There's No Place Like Home

Last Night In Hospital
It has been a busy last couple of days. Mum and Dad had a lovely meal together while Jessica slept straight through. Mum also gave her a bath on the last night in hospital (23rd):

Her little feet were just too adorable - this one was taken whilst she was feeding. Ben and Andrea, this one's for you!

Little Jessica has been doing exceptionally well, now that Mum's milk is in she has put on a whopping 140 grams, nearly halfway back to her birthweight.

The Journey Home
Today was a bit of a red letter day for Jessica - it was time to say goodbye to all the midwives and other mothers and babies, and head home. Dad had already gone past KidSafe and checked that he had installed the car seat properly. It was a perfect fit:

Jessica slept all the way home. It was lovely to be back in familiar surroundings for Mum, and to see her two adorable cats again (who are going to have some adjusting to do...). As for Jessica, she was still quite sleepy, but not so much that she wasn't willing to have another go at feeding! A seat in the sunny window in her room was just the ticket for Mum and bub:

Jessica's basinet seemed to be just the ticket as well. Perfect for sleeping in! One hour at home and already she seems to be settling in just fine.

Now that's a head of hair !

Aw, so cute. Lousy good looking parents (mutter) and their good looking kid (mumble).

Welcome home Jess. Remember, poisons are not the chemicals you are looking for ...
